Having work ethics is key in life and in the workplace in order to be responsible and finish a task effectively. These ethics include interpersonal skills; which allows one to interact with people in the proper manner, taking initiative; which allows one to be productive and not slack off, and being dependable; which can help the individual by creating a positive judgement based on their honorable actions.
I feel that my interpersonal, initiative, and dependability scores reflect the real me because I believe I am a person that possesses all of these qualities. Although, I also believe that I am not always on top of my game, and I can slack off in some of these areas very seldom. From this activity, I learned that I am a reliable person and I need to remember to always be reliable and never fall short of these qualities. This is especially important in the professional environment because I always have to be alert and willing to work with people.

Communication is a very important aspect of life. It can be used in many different forms based on the situation. There are five main types of communication: verbal, aural, non-verbal, written, and visual. These different types of communication can be used in different settings. For instance, if one was in a quiet room and they need to express something to another person, without disturbing others, they might need to use some form of non-verbal, written, or visual communication.
Much like there are different types of communication, there are also different tones and styles of communication. For example, one might speak differently to their family members as they would with a friend. Generally, people use slang and do not speak in a professional manner as they would when speaking to family members or somebody at the workplace. People tend to speak more properly and politely when around somebody from work or a family member. Although it is expected to be polite to family members, one's body language and actions may be slightly different when in contact with a person from work. For instance, you might greet a family member by giving them a hug, but you would greet your boss by shaking their hand. When talking to my mentor I will be polite, informative, and listen actively. As for my body language, I will have good posture, proper facial expressions, and be inviting. When I am speaking to my mentor or I will also make sure to have the correct tone and use proper grammar when speaking to them face to face or by written form, whether it be through a text or email. It is important to show the mentors and anybody that one comes in contact with that they are a responsible student and a hard worker. They have to show that they are dedicated to their work and they will continue to do so. It is also very important to be respectful to everybody and to only spread positivity. Although going into the workplace can be challenging, the outcome and knowledge gained will be majorly beneficial. I believe that my mentorship will help be gain knowledge on how to behave in a working environment. I also envision that I will gain more knowledge on how to complete the tasks I am given. This will help reassure me that I am taking the right path, regarding my future. In order to get the most from my experience, I will make sure to ask questions if I do not understand something. I will also be on time every day in order to ensure that I retain the most amount of knowledge as possible. Like mentioned before, I believe this mentorship is preparing me for the future by giving me experience in a work setting. I also believe that it will reveal my strengths and weaknesses by the upcoming experiences and the tasks that I am given.
