My interest for the rare disease, epidermolysis bullosa is what is driving my research. I also want to find a better solution for the disease and make the patients feel more comfortable since this disease causes a vast amount of discomfort. It would be an honor to find a cure or even make a minor difference in the sufferers of this disease's lives.
My current essential question is 'how can my mentorship at a medical center develop an effective treatment plan for patients with a rare disease known as Epidermolysis Bullosa?' In addition to he website, I would like to create a video simulation on how the skin peels and explain the effects that the peeling has on the patient. I would explain the pain that is caused, and how the treatment plan will help. For my real inquiry I can conduct a survey on patients with epidermolysis bullosa. I can also look through case studies to understand the severity of the disease. In addition, I can look at the foundation websites that are in support of funding epidermolysis bullosa treatment and gather testimonies from the sufferers of this rare disease.

1. My essential question is, how can my mentorship at a medical center develop a treatment plan for patients with a rare disease known as Epidermolysis Bullosa?
2. I selected this as my essential question because it pertains to my mentorship. Throughout my day I am exposed to patients with a wide range of medical issues that interfere with their day-to-day lives. One of the diseases that I have come across is Epidermolysis Bullosa, which is rare and very fascinating as it is unusual. I have become excited to find the answer to this question because this disease is very painful and it would be satisfying to find a more effective treatment plan in order for these patients to not suffer as much and to live a more comfortable lifestyle. I believe this question shows my desire because it shows my aspiration to help people as well as my interest in the disease. In addition, since I am trying to compile a more effective treatment plan, it shows the level of concern I feel towards sufferers of Epidermolysis Bullosa. |
